Sarah Faisal and Nicole Seymour from award-winning children’s production company Anamal Tech select their pick of the best apps to expand your little one’s mind and help make learning fun.
This week’s app: Dr. Panda Town Collection
Age: Preschool
Focus: Dr. Panda apps focus purely on open-ended role play, encouraging children to explore and interact with familiar environments while learning at their own pace.
Summary
Town Collection features a whopping 30 unique locations for your child to explore, all in the one app. Will you fight crime as a police officer, run your own hair salon or be the world’s greatest vet? Why not visit the mall and go on a shopping spree, enjoy a day out at the amusement park or grab your swimsuit and head to the beach. In this town, the possibilities for discovery and interaction are endless.
It’s worth noting that this app is subscription based. It does come packed with so much to do, and new features are added on a regular basis. You can even trial it for free.
Why we love it
Moon Community Club’s resident tester, Sarah’s 4 year-old daughter Basma, absolutely loves this app:
- She never gets bored when playing for extended periods of time, and the experience stimulates her imagination.
- Sarah enjoys playing along with Basma. They love to make up stories as they explore, and there’s plenty for mummy and daughter to discuss. You can even make videos of the stories and play them back.
- You can personalise any of the characters and take them with you on your adventure. Basma’s favourite is the clothing store: she loves to dress the characters up and find the right shoes, dress and tiara!
Overall this app is well designed and intuitive to navigate. As a result, the child is in total control which is an empowering experience for them. And if your little one is loving the app as much as Basma, there are plenty of other Dr. Panda apps to choose from to keep your little one entertained in an extremely constructive way.
Have your children tried Dr. Panda town? We’d love to hear your feedback in the comments section below.
