Smoothie Sundays: Easy mixed berry smoothie

This week we rediscover the joy of keeping it simple with this delicious berry smoothie containing only three main ingredients. 

Perfect for a quick breakfast on-the-go, or snack between meals, the mixed berries in this smoothie are packed with vitamins and antioxidants, while Greek yoghurt is a great source of probiotics – or healthy bacteria – which can help boost your immune system and promote good gut health. 

If you like the tartness of mixed berries, then this recipe is for you! But if you prefer your smoothies a little milder, add a half a teaspoon of honey for a taste of sweetness.

We’ve used frozen berries in this recipe as they make the smoothie naturally chilled, but you can substitute fresh berries and add ice to the blender.

 

SERVES 1-2

Ingredients

– 1 cup frozen mixed berries
– ¾ cup plain or Greek yoghurt (or dairy free equivalent)
– 1 cup milk, or almond/oat substitute
– ½ tspn honey (optional – if you prefer a sweeter smoothie)

 

Method

Put all the ingredients into a blender and whizz until very smooth. Serve immediately over ice, or transfer to a bottle to refrigerate for up to two days. Be sure to shake the bottle gently before serving.
