Kids’ Book Club Takeover: 8-year-old Bader’s favourite reads

This month’s kids’ book club is brought to you by eight-year-old Bader Faisal who recommendations titles from J.K Rowling and the WWE Ultimate Superstar Guide

At MCC, we’re passionate believers in the joy of reading and the power of books to help our our little ones learn and develop. That’s why this month we decided to let eight-year-old Bader Faisal tell us about his favourite titles in his own words. Bader, who’s the son of our co-founder Nouf Miteb and the inspiration behind Moon Community Club, is a fourth-grader at school in Riyadh, where his favorite subjects include PE and art. He loves to read in his spare time, but when his head isn’t in a book, he also enjoys playing soccer.

Over to Bader…

Harry Potter / Bader Faisal / Kids Book Club

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling & illustrated by Jim Kay, published by Bloomsbury

“I like this book because it is funny and it is all about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

“The book is about wizards and witches, set in the school of Hogwarts, and I want whoever reads this book to enjoy it like I did.”

MCC says: The second book in the popular Harry Potter series follows the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione in their second year at Hogwarts, where a deadly secret threatens its students. Jim Kay’s beautiful illustrations sing with life, beautifully capturing the magic and mystery of Rowling’s enchanting story.

WWE Ultimate Superstar Guide / Bader Faisal

WWE Ultimate Superstar Guide by Steve Pantaleo, published by DK

“This book is about Superstars in WWE that have won belts and championships, and tells how much they weigh and their hometowns.

“Why do I like this book? I like it because it has my second favorite Superstar.”

MCC says: We love this suggestion from Bader – proof that inspiring reads don’t have to be fiction and come in all shapes and sizes. His love of WWE inspired him to seek out this book to learn more about his favorite Superstars. This version by Steve Pantaleo includes stats and facts about all the great stars, with more than 200 wonderful illustrations that bring the text to life.
