As we head into summer we are busy advising, recommending and booking holidays and getaways for our members. Every year our global restaurant guide grows, as the hottest new spots arrive to compete with the traditional favourites, and our members also keep us up to date with what they’re looking to try.
We cover hundreds of vacation destinations, but there are a few that remain popular every summer, not only as fantastic islands and resorts but also because of their incredible restaurant scenes.
We couldn’t list all of them, but we thought we would give you a snapshot of what’s hot right now, this summer, across a few of our favourite destinations.
Ibiza
Ibiza might be known for its vibrant nightlife, but way beyond the party scene is an island known for being a destination for luxury travellers, and is especially popular with MCC members. Ibiza has beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, upscale restaurants, boutique shops and VIP clubs, and historic sites such as the Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s also famous for having some of the best seafood restaurants in the Mediterranean.

Upscale restaurant specialising in local authentic cuisine, located in a former salt mill with panoramic sea views, offering a unique Balearic experience.

Cannes
Cannes is well known for its media and trade festivals, including the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival. But outside of the bustle of its seafront promenade, the winding backstreets of Cannes and the charming historic district of Suquet offer a more traditional view of the Riveria, with its colourful buildings and Provençal architecture. Home also to some of the best gourmet restaurants and high-end shopping that France has to offer.

Monaco
Just a short drive from Cannes along the beautiful cliffs of the Riviera, lies Monaco, known for its glamorous casinos, upscale hotels, luxury yacht-lined harbor, and of course the prestigious Grand Prix motor race. The city-state is filled with opulent palaces and stunning architecture but also boasts Michelin-starred restaurants. A playground for the rich and famous, but also for avid food travellers.

Capri
This picturesque island located off the coast of Italy in the Tyrrhenian Sea is known for its stunning natural beauty, including rugged coastline, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation. A destination for luxury travellers, Capri is filled with upscale shops and hotels, and iconic sites such as the Blue Grotto, a sea cave illuminated by a unique blue light, and the Gardens of Augustus, offering panoramic views of the island. Milan
Aside from being a fashion capital, Milan is also a global business hub and as such is a sprawling, diverse, modern city. The fashion industry in particular has transformed the city’s backdrop with its famous designer houses, luxury boutiques, and in turn attracting high end hotels and restaurants for its discerning travellers. Milan is also home to iconic landmarks such as the Gothic Duomo cathedral, the opera house La Scala, and the historic Sforza Castle, and is a destination for cultural events, art exhibitions and international trade fairs, attracting people from all over the world.

Florence
Located in the Tuscany region of Italy, Florence is known for its stunning Renaissance art and architecture, including iconic sites such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio bridge. Florence was home to legendary artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli, and their works can still be admired throughout the city. The streets are lined with boutiques, cafes and restaurants and the Tuscan cuisine is popular with both locals and travellers.

Charming and romantic restaurant known for its cosy atmosphere and Tuscan cuisine, owned by the royal Habsburg-Lorraine family, adding to its reputation.
Osteria di Passignano
Nestled between two vineyards in the heart of Osteria di Passignano, with a traditional Tuscan cuisine that has been awarded its Michelin star every year since 2007.
4 Leoni
Typical Tuscan cuisine located in a lively Plaza popular with locals, this is fine dining Italian with a focus on natural, locally-sourced ingredients.
Obica
Restaurant and mozzarella bar known for its casual and contemporary Italian food and pizzeria right in the heart of Florence, in via de' Tornabuoni.
Trattoria Cammillo
Renowned historic restaurant that has been serving Tuscan cuisine since the late 1940s, offering homemade pasta dishes such as ribollita, pappa al pomodoro and pappardelle al cinghiale.
