The ancient city of Istanbul, formerly Constantinople, sits on the Bosphorous at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, and echoes all of the diverse cultures that have passed through it. It’s been a Turkish city since 1453, and is known for its Byzantine and Ottoman architecture.

 As might be expected from such a melting pot of humanity, there are cuisines representing all corners of several empires, but with the twinkling Bosphorous running through the city, so many restaurants can offer Turkish, international and eastern menus with stunning views of the river as the cherry on top.
