1. Jacuzzi

From the go-getting Big Mamma chain of Italian restaurants comes this four-storey extravaganza of a ‘palazzo’ with 4,000 sq ft of space - it used to be a bank - in the middle of the shopping haven of Kensington High Street. There’s a huge lemon tree growing in the center and an abundance of lavish greenery surrounding opulent decor. The menu is fun and imaginative and everything is made in-house.

3. Bacchanalia

This extraordinary feast for the eyes and the palate is set in a massive space in Mayfair that was once a car dealership. This has given the owners enough room to festoon the place with ancient statuary - some of it genuine - rampant artwork, and decor that makes ‘wildly opulent’ seem wildly understated. The food is Mediterranean, with many Greco-Roman dishes reimagined, the staff are dressed in togas and the prices are staggeringly expensive. But it is not boring.

Fresh from the US, Saltie Girl offers seafood with American flair in a pleasant but not large Mayfair setting. Saltie girl is known for its servings of tinned fish sourced worldwide, as well as its fresh platters. The service is said to be good but the prices are not cheap.
