Sitting in the Aegean sea, part of the Cyclades islands, lively Mykonos is justifiably known for its lovely beaches, sizzling nightlife, bright white buildings and iconic windmills.
It attracts a well-heeled crowd who enjoy a balmy temperature – around 27C in summer and 15C in winter – in which to relax and enjoy the many restaurants and clubs. Tourism is the major industry, with many global brands having been attracted to the island. Beaches in the north tend to be a little quieter than those in the south, but it’s worth noting that the island can be rather on the breezy side.
