Complete guide to Mallorca summer 2023: Restaurants

service post

Plan your trip to Mallorca this summer with our complete guide. Here, we take a look at island's best restaurants

- Mallorca's best beaches
- Activities for kids in Mallorca

There’s a lot of holiday potential packed into the island of Mallorca, which is undoubtedly why it has been a popular destination for decades, particularly with northern Europeans.

The largest of the Balearic islands, off the east coast of Spain, Mallorca (often spelled Majorca) has been a top vacation spot since the 1950s, with around 10 million tourists a year attracted by its beautiful beaches, plentiful attractions and warm weather (around 17C in winter and 85-90C in summer).

It’s true that mass tourism has increased, but there is also a sophisticated side to the island – the Michelin Guide awarded no fewer than 10 stars to Mallorcan chefs and restaurants, and its popularity with yacht owners has led to marinas emerging with the shopping and dining that go with them.

History buffs will enjoy exploring the heritage of the island. It has over the centuries been invaded by Phoenecians, Romans, Christians, Muslims and many others in between, and each culture has left its mark. And the island is not just a massive beach resort - its mountain range, the Serra de Tramuntana has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s particularly popular with cyclists testing themselves on the terrain!
